Fusion is Threeworlds' flagship modular, collapsible staff system — described as "the most versatile, customisable, compatible LED and Fire Staff on the market." It can be configured as a dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff for fire, LED, or daytime use.
Designed locally in Burleigh Heads, Australia. The system is built around a patented locking mechanism that secures compatible end tubes without wobble or rattle.
How it works
At the centre is a handle with a connector on each end. Each connector inserts into an end tube. Push each tube over the connector's O-ring until it meets the handle flush, then twist until tight. Twisting expands the connector's rubber elements to form a compression lock, securing the end and preventing rattling and movement. Both handle-to-end joins should be flush.
Different ends attach to the handle, and compatible hubs and spokes attach to the ends. Grips provide comfort and control. Compatibility depends on the component combination; see the end and hub pages for documented restrictions.
The expanding rubber elements sit deeper inside the end tube; the O-ring sits near the final join and prevents metal-on-metal contact and rattling there. Ultra hubs use the same connector arrangement and insertion/tightening sequence. See Compression lock.

Material and hub choices
Carbon-fibre Pure staffs are noticeably lighter than aluminium and, according to Jason, much more popular for that reason. Saving weight is especially important on dragon staffs because the hubs and spokes add weight. Ultra hubs prioritise convenience and low weight; V3 hubs provide greater attachment security. Ultra supports Threeworlds' own Sushi and Isis fire spokes; heavier custom wicks are not recommended for Ultra. See Comparison.
Six versus eight spokes is a visual preference, with eight adding weight. Isis fire spokes give a bigger flame and longer burn than Sushi. See Spokes and Source: Fusion Clarifications — 7 September 2026.
Fire ends always use aluminium tubes, including with a carbon-fibre handle. The aluminium avoids exposing carbon-fibre fire-end tubing to damaging heat; joining carbon and aluminium partway along an end would add as much weight as using aluminium throughout. Spin LED ends are all polycarbonate, illuminated down the tube by a current R3S unit inserted at the outer end and finished with a push-on silicone cap. Contact LED ends use aluminium/polycarbonate hybrid construction to prevent wobble; Prism hybrids have a prismatic silicone pod. Hybrid ends also accept Lumi Dragon Heads, allowing the end tubes and heads to light up together. See LED Ends.
Sizing
Staff length is the total assembled length: handle + two equal ends. For example, a 1400mm staff with a 400mm handle has two 500mm ends ((1400 - 400) / 2). A 1700mm staff has two 650mm ends.

Tubing standard
Dragon and contact staffs use the same parts. Their gripped surface is approximately 25mm OD, and grip covers most of the staff to support rolling across the body. It stops short of the ends to avoid being burnt.
Spin staffs use a 19mm OD handle, with grip adding approximately 3mm to the diameter, bringing it to approximately 22mm OD, matching the bare end tubing. Only the central handle has grip because this is where the user holds and spins the staff; the ends are bare. See Fusion Grips and Source: Fusion Clarifications — 7 September 2026.
Physical fit and recommended combinations: A spin handle can physically connect to contact/dragon ends, but the approximately 22mm gripped handle and 25mm gripped ends create a diameter mismatch at the joins. This is not a recommended combination.
Specification clarification: The previous blanket statement that all tubing is 22.2mm OD × 19.1mm ID does not apply to the spin handle. The distinction between nominal 22mm and exact 22.2mm dimensions still needs confirmation.
