The Pi Stainless Steel Pan Drum is skilfully crafted in Australia by a master musician, possessing over two decades of experience in the industry.
Each drum produced by Pi is one-of-a-kind, boasting warm tones and beautiful harmonics. This 9 Note Pi Stainless Steel Hand Pan is made from high-quality stainless steel to create an instrument with powerful, long-lasting notes. In comparison to steel this stainless steel version resonates longer.
They are painstakingly tuned, with each field offering 3 distinct notes—tonic, octave, and "colour." The colour note is usually the fifth below the octave, and the third above it. Pi's drums are crafted to the highest standards, featuring Stainless Steel which is tuned and heated to around 300 degrees celsius, then tuned again this process is repeated 4 times. These extra steps help to stabilise tuning.
Each Pi Steel Drum also includes a soft case backpack for easy transport.
