You can get the best of both worlds combining a banjo with a ukulele. The Bourbon Street Banjo Ukulele has the great sounding traditional twang but all the benefits of a small body and ease of playing a four stringed ukulele.
It is most commonly tuned to the uke (open C) tuning of G C E A, but it was historically more commonly tuned to A D F# B, known as open D tuning.
This is a truly fun and unique instrument that is heaps of fun to get experimental with and take your playing to another dimension.
