Our 12" (50cm) Pro Mahogany Djembe is a beautiful hand carved drum.
The shape and size of the shell has been handmade to Threeworlds' specifications from Indonesian plantation sourced Mahogany; A vibrant timber that has become an important tonewood in the industry. Mahogany has an earthy, warm tone that is pleasing to the ear. The body is made of one solid piece of wood for integrity and strength and shaped perfectly to produce volume and deep bass. The outer shell is hand carved with tribal designs unique to each drum.
They are skinned, roped, tuned and finished by us in Burleigh Heads, Australia, with EvoSkin head. If you're searching for an authentic mahogany timber drum with minimal weight then look no further than this beautiful djembe.

This djembe has a beautiful and intricately carved wooden base and this kind of drum skin makes it sound bright but with a full resonance at the same time. The quality is awesome and it is the right size for my 12 year old daughter who is 158 cm tall and a womens size 8 at the moment, so you could say she is a petite adult womens size and the djembe is a good playing size and weight for her to carry also. This is a qualilty drum that will last the distance and that she can play for many years to come.
