The 12" (60cm) Mahogany Djembe is a full sized drum ready to rock. The shape and size of the shell has been handmade to Threeworlds' specifications from Indonesian plantation sourced Mahogany; A vibrant timber that has become an important tonewood in the industry. Mahogany has an earthy, warm tone that is pleasing to the ear. The body is made of one solid piece of wood for integrity and strength and shaped perfectly to produce volume and deep bass. The outer shell is hand carved with tribal designs unique to each drum.

They are skinned, roped, tuned and finished by us in Burleigh Heads, Australia, with an EvoSkin head.

Threeworlds drums are made to be played! They are fully tuneable, have an extremely tough skin, and well shaped body to provide sounds that sing! We play drums so we know what is good and what isn't. We stand behind every drum we sell.

The skins we use are unique to Threeworlds' djembes. Named EvoSkin heads, they are a synthetic (and vegan) alternative to animal hides. For everyday use, we think they're much better suited to the majority as they are incredibly low maintenance; They rarely need tuning, they are weather proof – meaning they don't lose tension or crack with humidity or dry weather spells, and they can even be played in the rain no problem! They are also easy to travel with in regards to customs and flying with your drum; You can take it absolutely anywhere you go. They also have a consistently clear tonality with warm basses and bright tones. Slaps will cut through with their lively overtones. Overall, we believe our EvoSkin heads will meet all your needs for a practical and flavourful djembe drum.

New to drumming

I joined a local drumming circle only four weeks ago and was eager to have my own djembe. What a beautiful awesome sounding drum! And just the right size for me. The rainbow bag is eye catching and the adjusable strap very comfortable. All arrived to me in NSW in great condition within a week. I've already used my beautiful djembe in my first performance with my drumming circle as opening act for a local cabaret performance. I felt quite the professional with my new mahogany djembe. Looking forward to many more performances as I develop my djembe drumming skills. Thank you for this lovely drum and accessories. Very happy indeed.

Incredible drum!

They picked out a wonderful shell, with beautiful etching on it. And I asked even if they could match the rope and look with my class of 30 8 inch drums I bought from them - and they did - it looks incredible!!! Was very quick and prompt. These guys know their stuff and love helping people make good music. The sound of this drum is incredible - deep basses and nice bright tones. It is a beauty to behold! I just LOVE this drum.

This drum has an absolutely incredible sound. It generates a really powerful bass tone, and a nice high pitched slap. Looks awesome too, covered in hand-carved animals and patterns!
