The wood is ribbed to give the guiro effect and two blocks which play different tones. When played, it can sound similar to frogs or even a purring quality. They can also be played just by hitting it with the mallet to keep time.
This is a sturdy instrument made from good quality wood making it ideal for home and classroom settings.
