Unconditionally Accept
We all find occasion to reject and resist another person. We all like to
put up a fight against anything we dislike on the evening news as we
spectate the world. But we forget that when we decide we will resist
something or somebody, either mentally or physically, we only empower the
object of our resistance, either in reality or in our own minds. If you
want to enjoy the ability to influence, always start with acceptance. If
you want to disarm another begin with acceptance. If you want to encourage
and empower another to change, start with acceptance. Don't make it
conditional. Otherwise it's just resistance disguised as acceptance, and
you are still trying to control them. And we can all smell a
controller...can't you?!

Our 4 week beginners drumming course starts on Tuesday Sept 4th @ 7.30pm.
No
experience is necessary as this is a beginners course so we will cover
the basics and week by week be learning several African rhythms. Lots
of fun!
Course cost: $60 ($20 drum hire if needed)

| Saturday August 25th in Brisbane city
Elliott Orr is calling
all drummers, and everybody wishing to make a statement about our
collective over-consumption of fossil fuels and the resulting heating
up of our increasingly congested atmosphere. The annual Walk Against
Warming has come around again, and with global warming finally having
reached the collective conscience there are likely to be a whole lot of
friendly folk out in the street for this event. Our role, as drummers,
is to bring a sense of celebration to the day, pouring our heart and
soul into encouraging one-and-all in our pursuit of a positive future.
So bring anything that makes a bang! Make sure you'll be comfortable to
walk and play, and join the drumming throng!

Outdoor Theatre, Fire and Lantern performance
for the Swell Sculpture Festival Closing Ceremony 2007. "Trails of Light- ToGether ToGather" to
be held on Currumbin Beach 23rd September, is a storytelling
performance celebrating the natural abundance of our beautiful area. A
team of local and interstate artists will be working with the community
through August and September. This is a truly unique experience. For

massive display of Firetwirling performances from all over the globe.
It's our 3rd year running this comp, which is all about sharing our
creativity and passion for Firetwirling plus a time to be inspired by
the acts the comp attracts every year as it continues to evolve. Come
see some of the best Firetwirlers performing live on the Gold Coast or
even better get your own group together and be a part of it.
