Thought- You Are Important.
I have been reading lately about the importance of feeling important.
There is a strong desire in us all to feel as though we have a place, that people need us and that our contributions are of significance.
Without this feeling we have no value and play no significant part in the world.

So how do we develop this feeling in ourselves and encourage it in others?
The world is in a state. There are endless avenues for me to give to others, and make a positive impact.

I need to ask myself "What can i do to help others?".
Finding ways to do this will increase self esteem and sense of worth, and will improve our planet on the way. So i guess the great shift is from WiiFM (what's in it for me) to, What can i give.

There is a great movie called "Pay It Forward". This young kid comes up with an awesome idea, that changes the world of many many people. Well worth watching. There is a day coming up soon that gives us all a chance to try out his great idea. Visit http://www.payitforwardday.com for more info.

Didge Workshop with Si (Wild Marmalade)

These guys rocked Tally Community Hall last Saturday night and now you've got the opportunity to learn Si's unique didge style.

Si teaches specific 'odd time signature' didj grooves with breathing patterns de signed to break conditioned cycles that the 'intuitve' didj player tends to slip into. These ideas are as well suited to the beginner as the advanced player. You will also be guided through the more important technical things to do with calls, trumpets and obtaining a deeper textured drone.……….As well as a splash of 2006 didj philosophy!!!!! In side 2.5 hours is enough information for a few years diligent hard enjoyment..…….Emphasis is placed on the right brain enjoyment of playing rather than left brain rigorous practice!

Mal Webb is described as a vocal adventurer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. From ballads, beatbox and beyond. Mal Webb uses a world of vocal techniques (including pygmy yodelling and Inuit panting) and writing styles. He plays guitar, mbira, slide trumpet, chromatic harmonica, a loop recording pedal called Derek and the audience... a lot. Ani DiFranco said "You're a freak!" after Mal played support for her. The Brisbane-based four piece, Moot, have been busy with the release of their debut album 'Dead Fly'. These new fire stick bags are totally awesome. They hold 6-10 firesticks in a denim lined padded, zip up adjustable heavy duty case/bag. You'd really need to see one. We have a huge amount of djembes in stock at the moment too. We have stock of the 8" - $99 drums, 10" - $199 and the 12" - $299. There is also a select few Mali drums back in stock. The Mali drums are a must have. 90% of the advanced class have them, i've got one, and there is a reason. They are a beautiful thing that will only get more beautiful with time. And the price is still going up, so it's a good investment. They are now $595.

This progressive course is a great way to get into drumming. It's designed for beginners and will teach you drumming fundamentals, hand techniques and a bunch of different rhythms. Oh yeah, and it's heaps of fun!!
