Growing



Growth is a wonderful thing.
Every living thing is doing it. Well either that, or it's dying.
It's the part of the cycle in life that makes us feel alive. The time that we are expanding and taking in new things, and moving into new areas.
When we are growing, truly growing, there is happiness, energy and enthusiasm.
So what can we do to enhance our growth as humans?(no i don't mean taller) I think it is about getting out of what is comfortable. There is a zone that creeps in around me sometimes. When i am going through life without thinking too much. This zone is comfortable yes, but also very confining. I don't like confinement, but in some ways i seek it out.
So i have been practicing to say yes instead of no, and no instead of yes. This simple switch can change a great deal. It can also take me from what is comfortable. It's easy to say yes when someone wants me to. It's easy to say no when i don't want to. Try the opposite when you know it to be right.

Cheze has been a teacher and performer of African Dance for the past 11 years. Based in Byron Bay she has facilitated dance workshops in Oz, NZ, Bali, Canada and HK. These classes along with the power of the drums will make you move, groove, sweat and smile all over. You will feel energised and alive. We only need 10 people to make it happen so make your booking now.

Didge Workshop with Si (Wild Marmalade)
Sunday Nov 19th
Threeworlds back room
2pm - 4.30pm



Cost $45 for 2.5 hour workshop.
Limited to 20 people so book now.
Si teaches specific 'odd time signature' didj grooves with breathing patterns designed to break conditioned cycles that the 'intuitve' didj player tends to slip into. These ideas are as well suited to the beginner as the advanced player. You will also be guided through the more important technical things to do with calls, trumpets and obtaining a deeper textured drone.……….As well as a splash of 2006 didj philosophy!!!!! Inside 2.5 hours is enough information for a few years diligent hard enjoyment..…….Emphasis is placed on the right brain enjoyment of playing rather than left brain rigorous practice!

Wild Marmalade plays Threeworlds
It's not confirmed yet but Wild Marmalade, our fave didge and drum band, are getting set to rock the Threeworlds back room. We'll keep you posted with the date in early November. Looking like it will be Saturday the 18th of Nov.

This progressive course is a great way to get into drumming. It's designed for beginners and will teach you drumming fundamentals, hand techniques and a bunch of different rhythms. Oh yeah, and it's heaps of fun!!

Paul Greene is possibly best recognised as the latter half of the duo Hirst & Greene which he played with Rob Hirst of Midnight Oil and Backsliders fame. Now playing solo he is one of Australia's premier singer songwriters. Loren returns quite quickly after his headline slot in October, so if for any reason you couldn't make that one.. Don't miss this one THIS COULD VERY WELL BE THE LAST REGULAR THREEWORLDS LIVE

What???Last Gig...?
Lets hope not!! Jai, who has been doing an awesome job of running the show since Joel left, has other committments building. His band Grassroots Street Orchestra is growing in popularity, has work committments, friends and family... So we are needing someone to fill these very charitable boots. It is a job for love alone. Both Joel and Jai have given their time to the cause free of charge and should be honoured for it. Threeworlds Live doesn't really pay anyones bill's but fills plenty of hearts with good soulful music. We would like to see it continue! If you are at all inclined, give us a call. 55260900. If we don't find anyone to take the ball we will be trimming it back to even less regular moments of great music in the backroom.

Bean bag film night is on again this Friday night and we're screening something very special. A documentary style film by a well known musician with long  dark dreads. Our film nights are on the 4th Friday of every month so come along .
